Microparticles in the aquatic environment and in foodstuffs – are biodegradable polymers a conceivable solution to the "microplastic problem"? - MiPAq
The Project
The aim of the MiPAq project is the full characterization of microparticles in the aquatic environment and in foodstuffs. Import, behavior, effects and balancing the risk of microparticles as well as the options to technical reduction are considered. The main emphasis is the overall assessement of all particles, especially the comparison of particle fractions of biodegradable (plastic) materials, conventional and non-degradable plastics as well as (in)organic particles.
Funded by the Bavarian Research Foundation
The Bayerische Forschungsstiftung is a unique promoting instrument, boosting and strengthening the Bavarian position in the worldwide research and development, and technology competition. The funding priorities are promising key technologies. The provided funds support the available potential of Bavaria in innovation, research and technological development optimally. Fundamental therefore is the close teamwork of economy and science and the connected knowledge transfer. The combination of the latest research methods and application-oriented technologies produce innovative solutions to productive applications.
