Centre for Urban Ecology and Climate Adaptation (ZSK)
The Centre for Urban Ecology and Climate Adaptation (ZSK) was founded in 2013 and currently consists of several interdisciplinary subprojects, dealing with the causes and effects of climate change on cities. The Centre aims to bring together the wide range of skills in TUM’s natural science, social science and engineering disciplines as well as other Bavarian research institutions for interdisciplinary research approaches and partners of the Bavarian Climate Alliance to elaborate the issue of “Climate Change in Cities” cross-disciplinary, holistic and practically relevant.
The ZSK primary works on topics dealing with the climate resilient, sustainable and green city of tomorrow and how these can be adapted to the effects of climate change with green infrastructures and their ecosystem services such as shading, humidification and carbon storage.
