The objective of my PhD is to understand the effect of flowering fields and mowing frequency on plant and insect diversity in agricultural landscapes. Therefore, I compare different flowering field variations and mowing frequency on the diversity and abundance of insects, spiders and flowering plants. Additionally I look into the interaction of insects and plants within these variations. The results of this project shall help to optimize the ecological use of flowering fields in agricultural landscapes.
