Projects
The Biodiversity Exploratories are a German Science Foundation funded research project (DFG Priority Programme 1374). The project aims to study the influence of land use intensification to biodiversity, species interactions and ecosystem processes in grasslands and forests in central Europe. Within this project, I work as a technician. I organize the sampling with insect traps in the three project regions (Schorfheide-Chorin, Hainich-Dün, Schwäbische Alb) and work on the sorting of the insects in the lab where I also supervise student helpers and organize the lab work.
The project Voice for Biodiv (funded by German federal agency for nature conservation) is a project coordinated by the Naturschutzjugend which aims to raise awareness on Biodiversity with a focus on youth. The project members take part at the Conferences of the parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity as part of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN). In Germany, they attend events with a high amount of young people to spread the topic “Biodiversity” in workshops, talks or at information desks.
I am one of the volunteers in the project and attended the CBD COP 12 in Pyeongchang, South Korea. I gave talks about the experiences at the CBD COP and on the topic “Biodiversity” in general for example at the International forestry students association (IFSA) in Freiburg and the regional youth council Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart.
