Background and expertise
Clara is from southern Germany and has completed a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Master's degree in Crop Sciences at the University of Hohenheim. During her studies, she developed a strong interest and soil fertility and sustainable agriculture.
She then moved to Denmark for her PhD studies at the University of Copenhagen, where her research focused on soil fertility and nutrient recycling using bio-based fertilizers. Specifically, she investigated the phosphorus availability from biochars and ashes derived from various waste materials.
At the LSYS chair, Clara's research will primarily focus on biogeochemical processes in grassland soils. She will conduct experimental studies to explore the interactions between soil, plants, and livestock, aiming to develop more sustainable livestock systems.
