Searching for easy indicators for degraded tropical pastureland soils
Our PhD student, Habtamu Sibilu, is working on identifying easy indicators for degraded tropical soils in western Kenya. He focuses on measuring soil water infiltration rates, soil compaction, and soil aggregate stability. The aim is to develop accessible and affordable methods for local communities to monitor soil health and manage pasturelands effectively. This research is crucial for protecting tropical soils from further degradation.
